A mobile application is a software application developed for a mobile electronic device, such as a cell phone, a smartphone or a touch pad. They are mostly distributed from download platforms such as the App Store, the Google Play Store or the Microsoft Store. Each mobile OS has its own programming language, allowing the development of its applications.
The hybrid – also called cross-platform application – is designed to run on any operating system, while the native application is developed to work specifically in a programming language of a specific operating system. Simply put, the hybrid application will work on Android as well as on Apple. The native application will be usable on either Android or Apple, depending on the programming language chosen.
